Rockburn Branch

Elkridge, MD

Rockburn Branch is an 18-hole, free-to-play course that's been a community favorite since it was established in 1999, with a major redesign by course designer Eric McCabe in 2019. It's rated a moderate difficulty with some real elevation to it — expect about a 2.4-mile, hour-and-a-half-plus round through wooded terrain with a few open bombs mixed in. The park recently cleared out a lot of the underbrush along holes 13–15, so wayward discs are easier to track down these days, even as newly planted trees add a fresh layer of challenge.

The course is dog-friendly, cart-friendly, and stroller-friendly (with one small step near the bridges on holes 8 and 9), and it currently holds a strong 4.3-star community rating.

Good to know: Rockburn Branch hosts a weekly Rockburn Sunday Tags League, with upcoming dates on June 28, July 5, and July 12, 2026. If you've been wanting to try out some friendly competitive play, this is a great low-pressure way to dip your toes in.

Kinder Farm Park — Anne Arundel County

Kinder Farm Park's 18-hole course got a major redesign in 2015 and now offers a genuinely challenging layout, with most holes featuring both short and long tee pads (marked by red and white stones) and multiple pin positions. Only two holes play fully in the open, so be ready to navigate trees and elevation on the rest. Plan on about two hours and just under two miles of walking. There is a small park entrance fee ($6/vehicle, with annual passes available, and free entry for military and veterans), and the course sits inside a 288-acre county park with plenty of other family-friendly amenities if you want to make a day of it.

Leister Park Disc Golf — Carroll County

Tucked into Carroll County Recreation & Parks' Leister Park, this course is a solid choice if you're heading toward Hampstead or Westminster and want to fit in a round. It's a great example of how disc golf has spread into county park systems well beyond the Baltimore Beltway.

Druid Hill Park — Baltimore City

Druid Hill Park, one of the oldest landscaped public parks in the country, is home to a genuine disc golf destination. The Legacy course is the original and most popular layout, set in open space with multiple tee and pin positions, and currently holds an excellent 4.4-star community rating. Across the road, the newer Hillway course mixes open and wooded holes for a slightly more hybrid feel. Both are free to play, dog-friendly, and maintained in part by the active Druid Hill Disc Golf Club, which hosts tournaments and leagues throughout the year — so don't be surprised if you run into some serious competitive play on a weekend visit.
